This past week...

This week lots of things happened !! the first thing we did is bought fish, and one is going to have babies.

I had day off school because my brother Julian was in hospital. [Note the priorities here :) !] last Sunday, he got sick so we took him to hospital. After the doctor saw him, and we were about to go home, he had a seizure and then had to be kept in for three days... and I stayed at my grandparents' flat for one night.

[Julian had contracted a salmonella-like bug called Campylobacter (probably from a restaurant that served raw and cooked chicken). It took three days of drips and intensive antibiotics to make him better...]

We gathered from your e-mail Nigel, that the children had not been well, and 'hospital' is especially worrying. But we send all our best wishes for everyone getting back to normal soon. It sounds as if Julian is over the worst.

Sean,
I like the video - didn't know you could put them on a blog! But who is the orange monster peering into the tank and being totally mesmerised by the fish? You won't have any more trouble from him!

I also like this about the video - when it starts for the first time, you don't know that it is a fish tank. I thought you had got a big hairy spider, and long legs started to come into view from the right, before I realised they were fish!
I have been reading about a valley in central Japan called Hell Valley, where macaque monkeys come in the winter to play in hot springs. It sounds really interesting. Is it a long way from Kobe?

It`s interesting about the bug that Julian got I have worked on that bug (kept safely in a bottle) but I never met anyone who had caught it!
